Professional Affiliations

Dato’ Dr Zaliha Omar have received awards in honour of her work in the development of Rehabilitation Medicine and rehabilitation services for patients and PWD clinically and in the community. They include Royal awards, international fellowships and others from 1983 to 2014. In 2013, the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia bestowed upon her the Kesatria 1Malaysia award, which grants her the opportunity to promote international education, conferences and exhibition tourism for Malaysia. This followed the winning bid she presented in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, in 2012. A dedicated team of members from the Malaysian Association of Rehabilitation Physicians (MARP), supported by the Malaysian Exhibition and Convention Bureau (MyCEB). In August 2014, she was conferred a Fellow of Academy of Medicine, Malaysia, the first for a Rehabilitation Physician. These awards also serve as boosters to her leadership role in Rehabilitation Medicine and Community-based Rehabilitation for PWD in Malaysia.
