Endocrinologists specialize in hormonal disorders. These include: diabetes mellitus (type 1, type 2, gestational, others), thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, parathyroid, osteoporosis, hypogonadism, obesity and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Endocrinologists combine clinical experience with a range of tests, including dynamic function tests and imaging to diagnose and treat each hormonal disorder. In some cases, referral to other specialties (e.g. neurosurgeon (who also happens to be the boss) is necessary to provide multi-disciplinary care.
