Palliative Care

Palliative Care Physician in UMSC provides care to cancer and non-cancer patients by optimising pain and symptoms managemet and pyschosocial support. Patients with advanced stages of diseases such as advanced kidney, heart, lung and liver failure including advanced neurological disease where symptoms are troublesome are common non-cancer patients receiving care from the Palliative team.

Equipped with special training and skills in pain control and management of other symptoms, we may be involved at every stage of patient’s treatment, providing care for patients who are undergoing cancer treatment such as surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and up until when such therapies are no longer of benefit. We focuses on management of pain and treatment of symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and breathlessness and psychosocial support to make it possible for patients to enjoy a good quality of life.
