Profile

Associate Professor Dr Mazlina Mazlan is a consultant Rehabilitation Physician and registered in the Malaysian National Specialist Registry (NSR). Her clinical interest lies in Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and Vestibular Rehabilitation. She qualified as a Rehabilitation Physician from University of Malaya in 2007 and did her elective training in SGH and Ang Mo Kio Hospital, Singapore. She is one of the first two physicians in the country with Fellowship training in Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation. She completed the training in 2014 from Epworth Monash Rehabilitation Medicine Unit, Melbourne, Australia; focusing on the comprehensive rehabilitation care from the acute to community after brain injury. While undergoing her training in Australia, she has also completed Level Two training in Community rehabilitation for acquired brain injury organised by Monash University.
She is currently heading the Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation program which provides highest standards of rehabilitation care for brain injured patients including traumatic cases, young stroke and brain tumour patients. As part of the rehabilitation program, Dr Mazlina facilitates patient’s return to work or return to school/university process after any injury with a group of multidisciplinary team members.  She has been invited as an expert medical witness in the past, for cases requiring rehabilitation medicine care and functional evaluation. She is also actively involved in academic teaching and supervision of post graduate Masters and PhD students. Dr Mazlina is a member of various National and International organisations and currently the Chairman for Acquired brain injury-Special Interest Group, Malaysian Association of Rehabilitation Physicians.
