The Universiti Malaya’s Faculty of Medicine is one of Malaysia’s oldest medical schools, having been founded in 1962 to cater to the shortages of medical doctors in Malaya at that time. Since its founding, the Faculty of Medicine has graduated over 6000 Malaysian doctors and 5000 medical experts.

The majority of the specialists at the UM Specialist Centre are former students here and they are currently contributing back to their alumni as a teaching force.
