Professor Dr Wan Ariffin Abdullah started his career with the Ministry of Health, Malaysia in 1979 and is a member of numerous international and national professional bodies including having serviced as President of the ASEAN Paediatric Federation, as well as the President of the Malaysian Paediatric Association, and the Chairman of the MPA Cancer Fund. His area of expertise is in paediatrics. He regularly contributes to books as well as academic journals, the most recent being the Medical Journal of Malaysia and Akta Tropica. His research interest is in paediatric cancer. He has been awarded the Ahli Setia Mahkota Kelantan (1989) by the state of Kelantan, is a two-time recipient of the Excellent Service Award by the University of Malaya, a two-time recipient of the Excellent Service Certificate by University Malaya and was awarded the Excellent Service Certificate by the University of Science Malaysia. He has been invited to speak in his area of expertise in numerous forums. He has also volunteered his services in Cambodia, Kosovo and is a founding member of the Children Wish Society.
