A graduate of University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and University of Malaya, Dr. Tan Jiunn Liang is currently a Consultant Chest Physician in University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), Kuala Lumpur. Before joining UMMC he started his medical career in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan, Kuantan. He attained his Master in Internal Medicine degree in University Malaya in 2014 and later completed his Fellowship training in Respirology in 2018.

Dr. Tan is an active clinical researcher, having completed several studies including SCENT Study (Lung Cancer screening), Pneumonia Admission Audit, Latent TB study, ALK (IHC) study, FLASH study (COPD) and Severe Asthma study in the last few years with several other ongoing studies. His keen interest in Respirology has seen him win several awards; APSR-IASLC Book Prize at the 20th Congress of the Asia Pacific Society of Respirology, Young Investigator Award from the International Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) during the 6th Asia Pacific Lung Cancer Conference and First Prize for Oral Free Paper Presentation in the Malaysian Thoracic Society Annual Scientific Meeting.

Towards public awareness, Dr Tan had organised celebration of World Asthma Day & World No Tobacco Day as well as Lung Cancer Awareness Month (2018 & 2019) in UMMC.
