Professor Dr Liam Chong Kin began his career in 1980 at the University Hospital. His area of expertise is in respiratory medicine. He is affiliated to the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, European Respiratory Society, Asian Pacific Society of Respirology, Respiratory Specialty Board, Asia Pacific Lung Cancer Group, Malaysian Thoracic Society, Royal College of Physicians, and the American College of Chest Physicians. Recent publications include contributions to the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Singapore Medical Journal. He was recognized for his Service to the Community during the SARS Outbreak by the Rotary Club of Bukit Kiara Sunrise, and is a four time recipient of the Excellent Service Award, bestowed by the University of Malaya. He also received a Loyal Service Award by the University as well as a Silver Medal Award by the Ministry of Science, Technology & Innovation and Malaysian Invention and Design Society (MINDS) in 2005. Towards public awareness, Professor Dr Liam holds talks in his areas of expertise.
