Dr. Chiu Chee Kidd is an Associate Professor of the University of Malaya and a Consultant Spine Surgeon in the University of Malaya Specialist Centre. He specializes in spinal surgery for patients with spinal disorders of the thoracic and lumbar spine.

Dr. Chiu earned his medical degree (MBBS (UM)) from the University of Malaya and later attained his Masters of Orthopaedic Surgery (MSOrth (UM)) from the same university. He completed his two and half years Clinical Fellowship of Spine Surgery under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Kwan Mun Keong in the University of Malaya. He was awarded the Asia Pacific Spine Society Travelling Fellowship in which he visited three major spine surgery centres; National University Hospital, Singapore, National Cheng Kung University Hospital, Taiwan and Kyung Hee University Hospital, Korea. He was also awarded the AOSpine Fellowship to IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, Milan, Italy.

Dr. Chiu is an active member of numerous professional spine societies such as the Malaysian Spine Society (MSS), Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS), AOSpine and Scoliosis Research Society (SRS).

Dr. Chiu’s expertise was grounded on his research on spinal disorders and had published his researches in both local and international journals. His master degree’s thesis won the best published article of the year in the Singapore Medical Journal. His researches also won several best oral presentations in the local and international conferences.
