Radiologists are not the most visible members of the healthcare team, but they are they provide the crucial information about your condition and how to help best manage it. Using images produced with a variety of techniques, they can tell the exact nature and severity of your condition from simple fractures to determining the extent brain damage following accidents. Radiology plays critical role in all stages of cancer management, from early detection and prevention, to treatment monitoring and even to treating cancers using image guidance

The safety of our patients is always our primary concern, not just about radiation Our staff, including radiologists, the technologists who administer most exams, researchers, and equipment engineers, are engaged in the safety effort.

Beyond the diagnostic investigations, BMIIC offers procedures that use real-time imaging technology to provide treatment for specific conditions. Specialty-trained doctors called interventional radiologists perform these minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Available interventional-radiology procedures include treatments for include treatment of vascular diseases in the brain & spinal cord; varicose veins; uterine fibroid tumors; narrowing or blockage of arteries; and cancer tumor treatment using radiofrequency, microwave or cryo- ablation and chemoembolization and selective internal radiation therapy

Vascular Imaging and Intervention

The interventional vascular specialists of the Vascular Imaging and Intervention Program perform minimally invasive, image-guided treatments for conditions including stroke and peripheral vascular disease. These same interventionalists also use minimally invasive .

Techniques to treat non-vascular conditions including uterine fibroids and certain kinds of cancer. In addition, our specialty-trained radiologists use the latest imaging technologies to provide diagnostic exams for a full range of vascular conditions.

The BMIIC features all available imaging modalities:

  • X-ray (radiography and fluoroscopy)
  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
