Associate Professor Dr Chai Wen Lin graduated from the University of Malaya in 1994. She served as a dental officer in Ministry of Health at Ipoh between 1994 and 1995. To fulfil the requirement for her specialist training, she then worked as an honorary senior house officer at the Queen Victoria Hospital, West Sussex, UK in 1996. Because of her interest in teaching, she then returned to her alma matter and took up the challenge to become a lecturer. Her believes in lifelong learning has brought her to achieve higher qualifications in the form of the Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons of England (FDSRCS) in 1998, a Master in Dental Science in 2005 and a doctorate of philosophy (PhD) in 2010. Throughout her tenure as an academician, she has dedicated herself to teaching, research and publication. She has involved in various researches areas in dentistry, such as endodontics (toothache, Enterococcus faecalis biofilm, C-shaped canal), implant-soft tissue interface and qualitative study on patients perception. Her researches have brought her multiple local and international awards. She has published numerous articles in local and international journals, not only pertaining to her research topics but also on various aspects of dentistry.
